Running & Marathons

The mild climate of Upper Lake Garda enables running enthusiastis to enjoy training for most of the yaer. This comfortable environment makes it possible to take advantage of the long paths along the lakeside as well as the countless mountain trails of varying steepness and difficulty.

The weekend of the International Lake Garda Marathon in October with the races of 42k , 30k , 15k and Saturday night with a 12k , together with the weekend of November with the busiest Garda Trentino Half Marathon and 21k and 10k side fit & 21k of walking are fixed destination for Italian and European runner .


If you want to explore the surroundings of Lake Garda you can also do it simply by bike. You can choose a trail suitable to your skills: the cycling paths for families or downhill tracks, without forgetting the Bikeshuttle service or a tour with the MTB Riders Garda guides.

Looking for a spectacular scenery or the thrill of adventure? Try the Ponale trail up to Lake Ledro, test yourself with the trail 601 along the slopes of Monte Baldo or the newly equipped trail of Val del Diaol is perfect for lovers of down hill racing.

After all this you still have energy left? The refuges San Giovanni and Malga Grassi are the right thing for you.


Had enough of frantic days and you’re looking for a slower pace? Wear a pair of comfortable shoes and start your walk.

You can take the Ponale path to the Bar Ponale Alto or go to Monte Rocchetta  and visit the Bastione castle and the church of St. Barbara.

Want to take a jump in the history? Monte Brione awaits you for a walk through the olive groves that hide bunkers and shelters of the First World War.

The lakeside between Riva and Torbole is great for those wanting a more relaxed walk with beautiful views and many options for scenic photos and selfies.

Beach and Water Sports

Sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddle and canoe: for water lovers there is no better place than Lake Garda.

You've never tried before? Here you'll find courses for every level and you can also rent all the necessary equipment.

Maybe you prefer sunbathing and relaxing afternoons instead? There are two kilometers of coastline connecting Riva del Garda to Torbole for you to enjoy.

And if you decide to sail off, a few steps from Residence Trieste you can get on a ferry or a hydrofoil and reach the most beautiful cities of the lake.


There’s no need to go far: the streets of Riva del Garda offer every kind of shop, from the local craft to the famous international brands, from the most sophisticated design to the local souvenir stores.

A few kilometers from Riva the town of Arco awaits you with its famous castle and many mountain sport shops.

Take a walk through the lovely downtown streets, follow your instinct and let the shop windows enchant you.

Do you like cooking? You'll find all the ingredients you need in the supermarkets and delis in the neighborhood, all easily reachable by foot.

Old Town and Center

Immerse yourself in the narrow streets of the old town and you’ll be conquered by the beauty of Riva del Garda.

By the lake you can admire the fortress Rocca built in 1124 to defend the city. Nowadays it hosts the museum MAG - Museo Alto Garda.

A little farther on, the thirteenth century Apponale Tower, with its 165 steps and 34 meters height, overlooks the harbor as a majestic guardian.

You’re an art lover? The churches of Santa Maria Assunta and Inviolata are waiting to show all the charm of their baroque architecture.

Eat and Drink

Grilled meat, fresh-water fish and seafood, specialties of the Trentino cuisine as “Strangolapreti” with melted butter or “Carne Salada” with beans and excellent wines to help you replace the calories you’ve burned!

A few steps from the Residence Trieste you can find refined restaurants, trattorias, taverns and pizzerias. Do you fancy a drink? The most fashionable bars and pubs in the city await you in the port area.

Remain at the lake side to enjoy the cool breeze of the evening: here the live music never ends!
